Is my doctor a pervert or is it just my imagination? ?!

Question: Is my doctor a pervert or is it just my imagination!? !?
I always feel weird when I see a certain male doctor!. I mean, I have had loads of personal examinations and know it's part of the job, but this certain doctor gives me the creeps!. I always go out with a weird feeling of embarrassment and confusion whether it's normal!.

When I went in ages ago with a stomach complaint, he pulled down my underwear down in a strange way as if he was heavy breathing!. He didn't do any personal examination apart from my stomach though!. I thought they were supposed to have a chaperone in if doing that!? Another time I had a lump at the top of my mouth after the flu and he put his finger inside my mouth without a glove to feel it, but when he was sat in front of me, he put his leg inbetween mine and against my leg and I went out again with that same strange feeling of wondering if it's my imagination!. No other doctor makes me feel like that!. Do you think that maybe he doesn't realise how he's acting or soemthing!? I always try to make sure they don't book me in with him now!. I feel a bit stupid in thinking he might be a pervert, but why does no other doctor do the same things!? Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are right to feel awkward he definately should not touch your underwear without having a female present even if it's just a receptionist he was well out of order and if you say nothing he might try to go a little further sometime
He should not need to sit so close he has his legs between yours he should adjust his positioning accordingly either turn side on to you or stand
As for putting his finger in your mouth with no glove that is just discusting and against health & safety which is there to protect you and them
He would not be the first doctor or surgeon to have HIV or AIDS
To be honest if you were my partner i would insist you make a complaint with regards to his ways even if it is just the disscomfort he makes you feel
He will more than likely be doing the same to others and just like you maybe feel awkward or embarrassed to say anything but thats how they get away with things is'nt it
It is obviously playing on your mind so don't let it drop imagine if you find out in the future he's done something much worse to a teenager or something would you then feel guilty knowing you should have stepped in
If you complain others might well follow who at the moment just like you are thinking surely not but we all know it happens from time to time
Unfortunate but trueWww@Answer-Health@Com

1!. You can always get another doctor, a female one!.

2!. Or you can ask for a female nurse or a parent to be present whenever he is examining you

Though, I don't understand why he needs to pull your underwear down to examine your STOMACH!.!.!.

And he should put a glove on to put a finger inside your mouth!. It's unsanitary to do it without a glove!.

Can't speculate on your speculation, but book another doc for any other health checks!. If you feel uneasy, thats enough in itself!. Don't let anything else develop either for real or just maybe an over active mind!. Play safe and bail out!. Put it down to "an experience" that you will never know for sure about!.

Been there, never went back, but still wonder!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could be reading more into it than there really is, he should have worn a glove though to examine your mouth!. Ask for a Chaperone next time, you are quite within your rights to do so!. A doctor I worked with insisted on a Chaperone to protect him from false accusations from female patients!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well if he makes you feel uncomfortable you should'nt see him!. You could just be imagining it, but its best for you that you dont see him!. Ask to see a different doc next time you visit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can always ask for a female nurse to be present while this doctor examines you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe you are just over exaggerating and if u have a problem with him than tell him if he is making u uncomfortable but i think he is just acting like a DoctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

the bit about pulling your underwear down doesn't sound too good!.

In my experience, if they need to see below clothing they ask you to lower it or take it off yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its probably nothing but just avoid him and go to see another doctor because there's nothing worse than feeling awkward with a doctor when your meant to be able to talk to themWww@Answer-Health@Com

Change your doc and voice your concerns !.!.!. it does happen and someone needs to stop the ball rolling!. Its professional misconduct at the very least!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't blame you I beleive he is a pervert I would try telling a parent

or if you are an adult I think he is flirting with youWww@Answer-Health@Com

think you are imagining things!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you avoid seeing him you won't have the feeling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's hard to say!. Your feelings of uncomfortableness could simply be explained by feeling uneasy about being undressed in front of a male Dr!. Many women do find this an uncomfortable experience OR it could be that something was wrong and your natural female instinct was telling you something was not quite right about the situation!.

Although it isn't a legal requirement, most Drs will always have a chaperone present when carrying out intimate examinations!. This is to protect both patient and Dr!. The best advise I can give is for you to either request to see another Dr or in future examinations actually ask the Dr to go and get another female member of staff to come in during the examination!. If a Nurse isn't available, usually a secretary will be more than happy to stay in the room while the examination is being carried out!.

I hope your fears are unfounded, becuase if he has done something bad, it is an appauling gross breach of trust on his part and a very unpleasant experience for anyone to have to go through!. If you really do feel this Dr has acted in some way inappropriately, contact the GMC and have an informal chat with them about your concerns!.

If he was just examining your abdomen, he wouldn't really have a chaperone present!. Intimate examinations really mean when you are required to actually remove your underwear or bra!. The only thing that seems wrong is that rather then him pulling down your underwear, most Drs would ask the patient to do it, rather than doing it themselves!. He should have worn a glove when examining your mouth!.

If this Dr has done something you must say something to prevent this Dr doing it to other patients!. Best wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
