Meds can cause these problems, but I have mine due to some mild PTSD and some very bad anxiety!. I smoke weed to relieve them because it keeps me from dreaming!. It may not be a practical solution for you but it also helps me fall asleep!. Also if you can clear your mind before bed, and before then just try to think of some positive things you can influence your dreams a little that way!. If your dreams are vivid (which I am guessing they are) you should look into lucid dreaming!. Lucid dreaming was a way for me to get some control over my dreams, even if I wasn't completely "lucid"!.

Also I suggest therapy to help with the anxiety that is giving you the nightmares, or to switch your meds up, maybe lower the dose!. SSRI's made my dreams crazy and are actually what made me start having them everynight!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you have a lot of stress in your life right now!? Are you taking any specific medication that may trigger nightmares!?

I would start by journeling in bed!. Get all your thoughts/ideas down on paper, so that when you close your eyes, you're not constantly over analyzing things in your head!. You don't have to write novels, even a few words, like what you did that day, what's on your mind, any worries you may be feeling!.!.!.getting it OUT of her head, and onto paper helps make it easier to relax!.

Try deep breathing and yoga!.!.!.especially in bed!.

Lay on your back, close your eyes (think of somewhere relaxing)!. Now start down at your feet!.--point your toes, stretch, and hold in place for ten seconds (while imagining you are "releasing" any negative energy)!.!.!.Now do the same with your calf muscles, then your thighs!.!.!.squeeze your buttocks for ten seconds, relax, repeat if needed!.!.!.if you can stretch your torso or hold in your stomach do so, but I personally think it feels werid--now with your hands-spread your fingers apart and stretch for ten seconds!.!.!.same with arms and shoulders!.!.!.now move onto your eyes---squeeze them shut (but not too hard) for ten seconds!.!.!.release slowly!.!.repeat!.

The key is to relax every muscle in your body from head to toe!. This may make it more peaceful to fall asleep!.

The last advice I can give you (and this is all superstitious) is to not have any mirrors in front of your bed as some may say that any "negative" energy that escapes your body at night, will bounce back from the mirrors and go back into your body!.

I hope you dream peaceful dreams!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could just be a result of anxiety but actually drugs, medications and their withdrawal can produce vivid nightmares!. Especially true of anti-depressant medications!. Are you diabetic by any chance!? If you are taking too much insulin at night and becoming hypoglycemic that can also produce bright colorful dreams!. Good luck to youWww@Answer-Health@Com
