My best recommendation is going to your doctor and getting a prescription sleep aid!. The OTC sleep aids leave you drowsy in the morning and some don't even keep you asleep all night!. The best sleep aid of all time is Ambien; you fall asleep relaxed and slowly, exactly like naturally sleep, you don't feel like you're being knocked out when you take sleep meds!. Ambien is the closest you'll get to natural sleep and when I say closest, it's actually better than natural sleep because you wake up feeling completely refreshed and rested!. The only downside is that you are not advised (unless under the supervision of a doctor) to take it every night!. If you are having occasional insomnia, rather then every night, then Ambien is perfect for you!. There's a reason why it's one of the top prescribed sleep aid in the US! I hope you take my advice and see a doctor!. They might just give you a sample to try it out or they might start you off on the smaller dose, 5mg (the largest dose is 10mg)!. I know some people don't like taking pills but trust me, Ambien is the wonder drug for insomnia!. I have had insomnia for years now and have tried almost every sleep aid out there, including Rx and OTC (over the counter sleep aids, the majority of them contain benadryl--diphenimydrine or something like that or benadryl with some kind of pain reliever like tylenol) so while you think you're trying a different brand like Tylenol PM as opposed to Advil PM, etc!. you're really just taking benadryl, an antihistamine with a pain reliever!. The only other OTC sleep aid, aside from the herbal ones (which haven't done a THING for me) is Unisome!.!.!.the generic ingredient in doxy!.!.!.something!. It begins with doxy, the generic name but the brand name is Unisom!. If you don't want to try Ambien, try that!. Aside from medication, trust me, I have tried every trick in the book to help me fall asleep (I'm a severe insomniac in case I haven't mentioned, lol) and none of them work!. Ambien is your best bet!. Hope i helped!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the same exact problem! I haven't gotten more than 4 hours of sleep in a night since I was about 14 years old!.!.!. and I'm now 19!. I've tried everything!. I just don't get tired until at least 6:00am, even if I've been awake all day!.

Maybe you should try having a few drinks before you go to bed!.!.!. that sometimes works for me!. I've found that peppermint schnapps puts me to sleep, try mixing it with chocolate milk or hot cocoa, that tastes really good and relaxes me!.

Otherwise, you might want to see a different type of doctor, like maybe a therapist, because most of the time, lack of sleep comes from something non-physical!. Maybe you're depressed and don't realize it!.

I would also try exercising!.!.!. tire yourself out as much as you can during the day so you get sleepy at a normal hour!.

I've tried all of these things, and they seem to work for a short period of time!.!.!. and then I have to find a new way to fall asleep!. You could also try meditating, it doesn't work for me but it does for some people!.

i know how you feel!. but there is a reson for not sleeping!. I dont sleep much ethier havnt for a long time!. taking nyquill or some meds work for me!. But there has to be a reason your not sleeping!. got anything on your mind!? are you stressed or worried about something because that could definatly do the trick!. Try closing your laptop or computer turning out the light and going to sleep!. Try clearing your mind!. or maybe even reading a book or talk to someone to see whats bothering you!. a friend a parent!. or maybe a doctor!. I wish you the best of luck! hope i helped a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you continue to not be able to sleep, I would suggest that you go to either a sleep disorders doctor, or ask your doctor to prescribe some medications for you to take!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try drinking warm milk, reading a super thick and boring book, listening to some soft and soothing music, or (provided you're not allergic to them), putting a few drops of lavender oil on your pillow!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

go to the doctor you might have insomniaWww@Answer-Health@Com
