Fasting for an ultrasound do's and don'ts?!
Question: Fasting for an ultrasound do's and don'ts!?
I have to fast for an ultrasound tomorrow for my liver!. I was told that I could not eat or drink anything, with the exception of a sip of water to swallow any pills!. My appt is not until 2:30pm!. I can do the not eating thing but I tend to have a chronic dry throat because of a medication that I am on!. Would it be ok for me to keep some hard candy on me!? Any other suggestions!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

you would be better off the have small sips of water than a hard candy!. They really want you to not eat anything that will get your liver and gallbladder working!. small sips of water should be just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
For the ultra sounds I've ever had, they said nothing but tons of water right before!.!.!.!. those were all for pregnancies though!. I can't help, except to suggest maybe you might call your ER at the hospital and ask them over the phone!? The worst they can tell you is that they can't help you!.!.!. especially if you don't give your name, they can't really "charge" you for the phone call!. Good luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com
