Xanax is a benzodiazepine and it is very addictive!. When taken with alcohol, it intensifies the effects of the alcohol!. You are not suppose to take it with alcohol, and I'm guessing your bf has felt the effects and likes them!. He sounds like he may have a problem!. You need to talk to him!. If he goes to the Dr!. to get those he is risking getting addicted to them, like I said, they are HIGHLY addictive and he is already a heavy drinker, he doesn't sound like he needs any more mood altering substances in his life!. If he has anxiety problems, he should consider getting on an antidepressant and going to an NA/AA meeting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The dangers of mixing the two is that one increases the potency of the other!. It's not a good idea!. As alcohol intoxication occurs, the breathing rate can drop dangerously low!. He could stop breathing depending upon doses of both!.
