Answers:
It shouldn't cause a problem, especially since it was in 2005!. But, they will let you know if it's OK!. As long as you meet the weight criteria and, let the Red Cross be aware that you have had a transfusion in the past!.** The blood transfusion that you received was safe for you to have it**
In addition, they test your blood to be sure it is safe before they allow it to be transfused to another!.
If there are any problems with your blood donation, they will contact you!.
I hope that this helps and Good Luck!. Plus, it's great that you want to donate blood!. There is a shortage of blood supply for donations!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you CANNOT give blood if you have had a blood transfusion!. Call the local blood centre to check, but i'm pretty certain they wont allow you to give blood!.

it says on the website, www!.blood!.co!.uk, as soon as you say that you have received a blood transfusion, it says you cannot donate!.

You should not give blood if:

1 You've already given blood in the last 12 weeks (normally, you must wait 16 weeks)!.
2 You have a chesty cough, sore throat or active cold sore!.
3 You're currently taking antibiotics or you have just finished a course within the last seven days or have had any infection in that last two weeks!.
4 You've had hepatitis or jaundice in the last 12 months!.
5 You've had a tattoo, semi-permanent make up or any cosmetic treatments that involves skin piercing in the last 6 months!.
6 You've had acupuncture in the last 6 months, unless this was done by the NHS or a regesitered doctor or nurse!.
7 A member of your family (parent, brother, sister or child) has suffered with CJD (Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease)!.
8 You've ever received human pituitary extract (which was used in some growth hormone or fertility treatments before 1985)!.
9 You have received blood or think you may have received blood during the course of any medical treatment or procedure anywhere in the world since 1st January 1980Www@Answer-Health@Com

In the UK yes you can!.

There is a limit of one year after a transfusion and then you're clear as long as you meet all the other requirements!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should probably ask your doctor!. Unless he or she says no then you should be fine to give blood as long as you are 17 or older and weigh 110 lbs or over!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
