Helium is lighter than oxygen!. It changes your voice by being light and speeding up the velocity of the air running through your vocal chords, in which sound waves are carried, so everything is sped up, which is why you sound so high and fast paced when speaking with a lung full of helium!. The thing is, when you inhale oxygen, your blood pumping through your lungs is filled with oxygen particles from the air you breathe, which your blood then carries to supply oxygen to the rest of your organs and tissues!. When you have a lung full of helium, your blood picks up the helium and supplies your body with that instead of oxygen, the lightness and higher speed of the helium compared to oxygen causes your organs to sort of "choke"!. The air supply dissipates too quickly and they are left gagging for oxygen!. Your brain, heart, and bronchial tree included!. What happened was your vital organs were deprived of oxygen as the helium replacing it dissipated too quickly, and that caused you to pass out, much like you would if you were choking!. You came to within minutes because oxygen was resupplied and your body began to work properly again!. You may not have lost any brain cells, but if you do this again you face serious organ damage, and maybe even brain damage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Helium itself is not poisonous, although some sources of helium can have trace amounts of arsenic which is very poisonous!. The danger with inhaling helium is displacing oxygen!. What happened to you sounds like a temporary lack of oxygen!.

A remember a news story about two college students that died because they walked into a giant helium advertising balloon!.

Though a very small amount is not particularly dangerous, It's really not a good idea to inhale helium!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Helium is among the noble gases or in another word it is an inert gas and it means they can't be dissolved or mixed with any other gas!. So nothing can happen to you and you will not lose any of your brain cells just forget it and you will be O!.K!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I don't think that has caused any problem!.
Did you know, Helium and Oxygen are used as mixture for underwater breathing!? (and not Oxygen or the plain air alone)
What you had was just instantaneous Asphyxia but it got relieved soon!. So don't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hope you learned from this!. You passed out because you weren't getting any oxygen!. You probably didn't do permanent damage to yourself, but it's not a smart thing to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

first off, see if you can think straight!. if u can't go to a hospital!. if u can breath and think straight everything will be fineWww@Answer-Health@Com
