Adult ADD just a couple questions...?!

Question: Adult ADD just a couple questions!.!.!.!?
As a child my school psychologist thought that I had ADD after doing a few test I was borderline, it could have gone either way, My mom decided that I was just being lazy and that was all!. So now as an adult (i'm 23, married, and have a son) my mom was reading something about adult ADD and she gave me a 73 question test!. you answered on a 0 to 4 scale, at the end of the test you added up how many 3 and 4 answers you had if it was above 20 then you were very likely to have ADD I had 47! a lot of the stuff that she was reading was exactly me! and then she read that ADD, depression, and anxiety were connected I have a problem with both depression and Anxiety, and it seems to have gotten worse as I have gotten older!.

My question is where do I go to get help with adult ADD!? I don't want to take medication I don't need, but if I need the help I want it, I would be willing to try more natural methods also!. Do I go to my regular doctor!? do I go to a mental health office!? do I go to a specialist!? Also is ADD something that gets worse as you get older!? and is it hereditary!?

any help is appreciated! Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

There are a lot of different ways of thinking about and treating "ADD!."

I've struggled with ADD all of my life, mostly unmedicated!. When i was younger I was diagnosed and took Ritalin for a short while but did not notice an effect!. I've spent much of my life depressed and anxious, and I believe those problems go hand-in-hand with ADD!. Sometimes I feel anxiety even causes my ADD!.

My personal opinion is that ADD is actually rooted in perfectionism, causing us to be afraid to focus long enough to complete a task!. We do not want to give ourselves the opportunity to fail!. I've seen this in many ADD people!. Doctors may not agree that this is the problem, but I think that's why it links to anxiety and depression!.

You do not need to take medicine to deal with ADD!. I highly recommend exercise (cardio esp), eating healthy (get enough water and protein, try to cut back on sugar as much as possible), and if you can afford it a good therapist!. Dealing with a lot of the issues behind ADD with the help of a therapist is so important!.

A lot of dealing with ADD requires learning how to manage your time and rationally understand what's possible within a limited time period!. Break everything down into small chunks so you do not feel overwhelmed with what you have to do!.

ADD does not get "worse" as you get older, but when you have to be in charge of your entire life and you can't focus or keep things organized, it's even more noticeable than when you are a kid!.

If you are able to go to a therapist call up a few and ask if they specialize in adult ADD!. You want one that knows how to deal with it!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

or you could go to your local doctor and ask them about it
i know how you feel!. i have it too :)
good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
