I am getting an endoscopy in the morning and I am really scared that it will make me sick! I am an emetophobic (fear of vomiting) has anyone had an endoscopy!? and what was it like!? thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I had one a few years ago!. You'll be fine, i promise!. I was given a sedative!. I was awake through the whole thing!. Its uncomfortable for like 2 seconds when the tube hits your throat and they tell you to swallow!. Just tell them your scared!. Good luck my dear xWww@Answer-Health@Com
I was given general anesthesia for my procedure and didn't feel a thing during or after it!. I don't know how your physician will handle it - either by general anesthesia or topical anesthesia!. Either way - be sure to tell him/her of your problem!.

No worries!. I help perform endoscopies in New York, and I can tell you that we put patients to sleep when we do endoscopies!. They wake up within minutes after we're done, and you leave within 2 hours after waking up!. No problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
