What medical info am I required to give...?!
Question: What medical info am I required to give!.!.!.!?
I am currently in college and need special accommodations allowing me a longer period to complete my assignments due to having a chronic illness!. I was told by the school that in do this I must provide specific medical documentation showing this!. I asked it this could just include a note from my doctor and was told no, that I actually had to provide medical records supporting this!. Is it legal for them to ask for my medical records!? Is there anywhere on the web I can go to look up this information!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you want to have these special provisions you will have to provide proof!. You do not have to give your medical records to anyone you choose not to give them to!. But at the same time they have the right to require proof!. So you have to decide what's more important to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i don't know where you could find it on the internet, but i would consult a lawyer!. i do think that it IS legal for them to ask for medical proof!.
i know someone else who has autism, and it takes him longer to do work, so he needed to get an IEP!. in order to do this, they needed his doctor, or a note, stating that this was true, in order to give him those special privileges!.
also, i know personally, because i was in the same position in high school (and im assuming they are the same)!. i would be out of school 3-4 days a week for a few months due to a chronic illness, and i had to give medical proof why i wasn't there, and in order to pass the classes i failed, the principal needed a note!. (because he trusted i knew i was doing, not because i didn't do the work, he passed me)!.

If you are asking for accommodations for a chronic illness, then yes, they have the right to ask for more info than just a note from your doctor!. As far as how much you need to give, I am not positive on that as I believe it can vary from state to state!. Your doctor should be aware of how much info they need to provide!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes, they can ask for medical records!. Just call your doctors office and they will provide you with them!. If you get social security their information will be a good thing to provide also!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
