Question: I got THREE hours of sleep last night!?!!?! HELP with teenage insomnia!?
i think i might have isomnia but its on and off!. i usually cant sleep on sundays!. this monday i fell asleep around 4:00 and had to wake up at 7!. I'm exhausted!. please, how do i prevent this from happening!? I go to bed around 10:00 and i usually read till 10:30!?!? I'm 13 and my parents dont want me taking pills!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've had this problem!. It is going to be hard, but this is what you need to do!. You need to limit caffeine and not spend anytime in bed until it is bedtime!. Also, when in bed, you must turn off tv and put the book down!. if you are unable to sleep, you will have to just stay up until you fall asleep!. you will be exhausted, but you will sleep well the next night!. make sure you are going to bed and waking up at the same times everyday (within 2 hours of normal time)!. don't start taking over-the-counter medicines, but there are all-natural sleep promotion drugs you can take like melotonin!. this is harmless and does help when taken a couple of hours before bedtime!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Melatonin is a hormone naturally produced by the part of your brain in charge of regulating your biological clock!. You can buy it at whole foods and it really helps!. Also, "calm tabs" which contain melatonin will put you to sleep!.

They are not prescription drugs, or addictive in the least!. Just pop 3 or 4 and youll be out cold in 15 minutes, that is, if you want to sleep!. The thing about this treatment is you can fight it off, unlike ambien!.

Do you have anxiety!? and then more anxiety when you havent yet fallen asleep!? Try meditation and relaxation techniques!. Together, with melatonin, you can get a good nights sleep, and feel refreshed!.

First off, relax!. Allow yourself to slow down and reduce stimulation as you approach going to bed!. Don't do exciting activities within an hour of sleeping!. You should also cut out caffeinated drinks entirely for a while!. Your parents are right about not wanting you to take pills!. They become a trap that you should try to avoid!. depends on how long this has been going on!? but when i was younger i had the same problem!. what i would before bed is try to get myself really exhausted by walking around or cleaning or something along those lines!. and if that didn't help, i would put Lavender scents in my room for example like a candle or something!. sometimes even taking a bath would help me because the heat would make me tired!. and i'd be sure to be in bed at the same time every night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

take some valarian root, i think i spelled that wrong, but it's totally natural you don't feel like you are on drugs, you can get it in pill form or just chew on some root, i don't know if it tastes bad cause i took the pills!. you don't notice but when you lay down you fall right to sleep, or at least i did!. works great and all natural!. so hang overs of any kind or stuff like that!. good luck!. also try excersizing some time in the day, not right before you go to bedWww@Answer-Health@Com

i suffer from this as well!. but i got pills!. But before that what i would do is pull an all nighter!. If i was still up at 4 like you were i would make myself stay up!. run on no sleep!. then when that night rolled around i knew i was gonna make it to bed early and get some sleep!. it may not work for you!. it's just a suggestion!.

I'm 15 and the same thing happens to me, I thought maybe it was from stess or something, the only thing that i've found that really helps me is reading a book until im tired (I am a big reader), and just laying in my bed until I fall asleep!. I also try not to drink anything that could give me energy lik esoda, or even sugary juices like at least 3 hours before I go to bed!.

im 13 too!. i had this last year!.!. try drinking camomille tee before bed!. avoid chocolate or caffine sodas (coke, pepsi ect) during the late day!. read a book before bed or watch tv!. but dont watch scary, violent movies that will upset you!. try listening to calming music untill you fall alseep!. that helped me for a while!. or, buy an alarm clock with ocean sounds or something like that!. your parents are right about pills!. dont take them because you will be hooked on them, and there are way better ways to call alseep!. goood luckkkkWww@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt it's really insomnia!. Have you been drinking a lot of cola or coffee!? People often forget that cola has caffeine in it and drink it in the night only to find the can't fall asleep!. 10:30 bedtime isn't so bad either!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well there are some natural pills you can use they called pasinerva and its natural and work good!. I think it better to do that then getting no sleep!. Try to run at 18;00 maybe this will help if they dont let you take a pillWww@Answer-Health@Com
