Well I only found out today that I've been holding my pencil differently to other people!. I hold it with my index and ring finger on top!. My writing is neat but now I've got this callus on my ring finger and it's really gross!. I've had it there for years!. It's really showing, it looks like I have a bone sticking out of my finger!. It looks nasty!. Is there a way to remove it!? Or am I stuck with it forever!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ive had the same problem as well, but i have it around near my thumb!. One thing I do is that I soak it in a very diluted chamomile tea!. The tea will both soothe and soften hard skin!. Although the brew will stain your hand, it comes off easily with soap and water!.

Another way to soften tough calluses, involves crushin five or six aspirin tablets into a powder!. Mix into a paste with a tablespoon each of water and lemon juice!. Apply this to all hard-skin spots on your hand, then put your entire hand into a plastic bag and wrap a warm towel around everything!. The combination of the plastic and the warm towel will make paste penetrate the hard skin!. Sit still for at least 10 minutes!. Then unwrap your hand and scrub gently the area with a pumice stone!. All that dead, hard, callused skin should come loose and flake away easily!.

To remove a callus, fill a bucket/tub with the hottest water you can stand and soak the affected limb in it; if the water is extremely hot, you should only have to soak for about 5 minutes!. Once the calluses have turned completely white and soft, use a blunt object, such as the dull side of a dinner knife, to scrape at the white calluses!. DO NOT use a sharp object, cut, or saw at the callus!. You will destroy your skin, cause scarring, and likely cause the callus to return larger than it previously was!. After you have scraped off the majority of the dead skin, use a pumice stone to gently sand the area!.

After you have scraped the callus until the white is gone, wash the area gently with soap and dry!. After the area has thoroughly dried, you will know whether or not the entire callus has been removed!. You may have to repeat the removal process two or more times before the calluses are gone!.

After you have removed the entire callus, the skin is still likely to feel rough, though not raised!. There are several ways to soften the skin!. One method is to regularly steam the area!. Unless you have the proper equipment, this method will not be effective, and if you do have the right equipment, the process can still be a lengthy one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
