someone like ateacher comes up to him and she stops and smells and since it was his first time he is frightened and then his panic builds up with the suspense and then a they assume the smell is from his parents or something.

He would be suspended and or get detention. Smelling cigarettes is not a good enough reason though. They would have to be caught in the act of smoking, which opens up another can of worms because students are not allowed to have lighters at school, which would be more detentions/suspension days. Also, probably have to write an essay or two on the long term effects of nicotine addictions and smoke inhalation on lungs.

No, he gets expelled, maybe goes to an alternative school where he will smoke more weed at the bus stop and on the bus to school with everybody and never get caught. He might go to court and pay a fine. If it happens again, juvenile jail for a couple months and/or probation. Then the cycle repeats itself. Eventually, he starts going to treatment facilities where it sucks but ends up having lots of fun, or gets in lots of fights with staff. Then, he either gets into harder core drugs and fries his dumb*** or finally quits, somewhere along the way.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is... To be, or not to be.

it depends if they just smell it on him they would call parents if they know he is smoking then he might get suspended also it could depend if school wants to infer or not
