heart rate.. is it too low?!
Question: Heart rate.. is it too low?
I'm a 20 year old girl sitting down and I measured my heart rate as 56bpm. Thought this was a bit low cause I'm not athletic (not overweight either). I've been measuring it for a few weeks and resting heart rate is usually in the 50s. Is this anything to be concerned about?
Also a couple of weeks ago for about an hour and a half, my resting heart rate was about 120 and I was shaking. This has happened 3 other times in the last few months. I wasnt panicky at all, and not stressed.
I've been to the docs a lot over the past few months cause of bad tonsils, and mentioned the shaking n high heart rate, but she said that wasn't anything to worry about.
Any opinions? Thanks

Your resting heart rate in the 50s is OK.
What is probably far more important is your blood pressure and this should be no lower than 90/60 and preferably no higher than 120/80. Above 140/90 is too high and needs treatment.
