Why do abnormally thin people have their thyroid gland removed?!


Question: Why do abnormally thin people have their thyroid gland removed?
Just heard it somewhere and curious to know why they do it :)

They are not removed, they are made smaller because sometimes people have something called a hyperactive thyroid glands.

They produce hormones and that includes Adrenalin, hence their metabolism is by far to hyper and keeping a healthy weight is difficult..

Myself...

I can scarf down 5000 6000 calories per day for a month with only 2-5 pound gain so im kinda borderline.
on the bright side, I never had a complaint in bed... check that.... most tire out on the 6th hour.
