Why do they become addicted?
Constant peer-pressure and they become dependent on it as they see life as boring without it

Most alcoholics are losers and do nothing, but drink. They don't fish, hunt, play tennis, travel, sigh seeing, beach, boating activities. So they are a loser doing nothing and then they start drinking and just do nothing else. But I think it's bull that they are just addicted to drinking. For one thing so many people go to bars when they are young and start drinking, but many don't go to bars and never start the habit ti begin with. I've been around people who drink when they get out of bed. Buit all they did was drink all day and did nothing.

There are 3 components that make up an alcoholic...Genetics, Psychological and social....I am an alcoholic and do not consider myself a "loser" as someone posted. If you have someone in your family that has substance abuse problems...that increased your chances of having a problem yourself. Alcoholism is considered a disease....some people have an allergic reaction to alcohol too. Most people can drink without having a drinking problem...unfortunately I can't. I am 46 years old and still fight this addiction on a ongoing basis.
