Can my anxiety be the cause of my sickness?!

Question: Can my anxiety be the cause of my sickness?
I've been having major trouble sleeping lately, and I have all sorts of nervous energy and have been feeling very anxious. I will be exhausted but find myself not able to fall asleep for hours and waking up in the middle of the night, several times, and having trouble falling back asleep. I have headaches, feel nauseous, and today I woke up with a sore throat and feeling very weak and light-headed.

When a person is given a placebo, it has been found that it often has a very positive impact on the person and their 'problems'. They have also found that the more expensive a placebo is, the more effective it becomes. Another kicker to this is, even if the person is told it is a placebo, it still seems to work for many.

What does all this mean? The power of the mind is your reality here. Whatever it is you are worrying about, stop. There is really no need to freak out about most of the things so many do. And seeing as how you are a woman, I'd say this holds true to a magnitude of 10. Relax.

Yes, stress is always a culprit to lower your immune system. Drink lots of liquids and eat plenty of fruit (bananas and dried cranberries have a ton of vitamins, but also higher amounts of sugar, citrus has lower amounts of sugar and lots of vitamin C, but not as much of the others). Avoid caffeine and any "energy boosters" if you can.

"I had suffered generalized anxiety for more than two years and I can tell you that Charles' Linden Method helped me when I thought nothing could help me. I took medications like Valium, Zoloft, Lexotan, Xanax which had no effect over my anxiety, except making me feel very dizzy every day. Now it has been one year since I gave up the medication and I feel OK again."
