Maybe you find the more creative side of writing more interesting, and therefore easier to memorize, rather than when everything is neat and 'scientific'-ish. Could be that you are just a more creative, artistic individual. :)

That doesn't sound weird 'tall. I do sorta the same thing ;)
It's probably hard for you to understand/memorize neat notes because all the "working out" isn't there. Therefore you only have the correct answers, none of the wrong one answers or even how you got to the right answers.
Like I said I do the same thing (:
When you make neat notes the page looks very boring and organised, therefore it is harder to use your photographic memory. Every page you remember will look the same but if every page is unique it is much easier to remember.
