Question: I think I swallowed my nose ring... Help?
Basically what I want to know is if this will cause any damage. It has a really rather sharp end, and could easily cut/pierce soft material. It did hurt while it was being swallowed, but after a few minutes the pain stopped. It doesn't feel like it's stuck or anything though. But should I see a doctor about it, or should I just wait for a while and hope it passes through?

I would recommend that you phone your physician and ask him the best course of action to follow. He/She might tell you to wait until it passes through your body or he/she might want to take other measures. Don't take the risk of not phoning to find out what you should do.
You'll probably be fine, the body is pretty resistant, but if you feel any pain or discomfort along the digestive line I would suggest going to see a doctor. Its more risky in this cause due to the fact that the ring has things that could potentially cut through tissues in your body. Just monitor yourself. You should know if something is wrong.
Chances are it will pass through, but after a few days, if you feel any sort of pain or discomfort, I would ask to have an X-ray taken of your digestive tract. It theoretically poses the same risk to tearing your internal lining as throwing up does.
