Question: Is sleeping 10 to 11 hours a night bad for health? If so, can you please provide valid link?
My body cannot function without getting 10 to 11 hours of sleep a night. I know little sleep is dangerous for health but some people told me 10 to 11 hours a night is bad for health too. Why? I feel very well rested and energetic after 10 to 11 hours of sleep. I thought that everyone's body and system is different. While some require lesser sleep, some require more. It says the average is 8 hours a night but the term "average" is not for 1 person but a group of several people. I have not yet found any scientific link which states sleeping 10 to 11 hours a night will give you heart disease, stroke, diabetes (the problems with little sleep) etc etc.

Maybe you're not looking hard enough. Too much sleep does put you at risk for diabetes and other health problems. Google it. 10-11 hours of sleep is way too much. Seriously, are you telling me that you sleep almost 1/2 of your day away? That is crazy... do you work? That right there is 8+ hours, so, what do you do with the rest of your time? It just does not make sense to me... I'm 21 and get any where from 3 1/2-4 hours of sleep a night... and I am a full time student and constantly volunteering. If I am lucky, I can manage to sleep about 5 hours. However, I notice that the longer I sleep, the more leathargic I am...

So am I, join the club. Humain needs 8hours up to 10-11 in somes. And as weird as it sounds, exercise is a good way to sleep better hence sleep shorter
