Is it medicaid or medicare?!

Question: Is it medicaid or medicare?
that pays the disabled to pay a in home health provider? IIf so what is it called? I looked on both websies and was unable to find something useful. Is their a certain form that is required, something additional to sign up for. Or is it basically added in to their monthly check and you pay at will?

Medicare is an insurance for those who have retired.
Medicaid is insurance for those who cannot afford it.
I would call a social worker who deals with disabled and ask them.
Either one could pay for this depending on the circumstances involved.

Neither one really. Medicare will cover a beneficiary for a short recuperative period either at home or in a nursing facility.

Medicaid covers medical services by an authorized provider such as doctor or hospital and for long-term care in some nursing homes and assisted living facilities if the person qualifies by their income and assets.

Some states have In Home Support Services which the state pays for elderly or disabled caretaker but you have to qualify as low income to get this help.

Catholic Charities also offers low cost in home care for elderly or disabled.

This depends on what home health you're talking about. If the patient has Medicare (they are either over the age of 65 or severely disabled and on disability) and they need short term nursing help after they were in the hospital, then yes the home health provider bills their Medicare. The doctor arranges this.

If the client needs long term custodial support (ie, bathing, dressing, getting them up and out of bed every day) then there is a Medicaid program (called a Medicaid Waiver) that will pay for this cost. NO it's not money added to any check. Medicaid Waiver is a special program with a long waiting list and once accepted the patient picks a home health provider who is able to bill Medicaid for this service.

No money is ever given to a patient to then pay a provider.
