Question: Smoking, trying to beat it, this week had a few slip-ups because was in social situations!?
How can I stop myself smoking when I'm in social situations! I go to the pub once a week, and only then is when I smoke , when I'm at uni at home etc I don't smoke at all, at least I got this far with it...

But I want to quit smoking completely, how can I do it in social situations ?!

Answers:

You can't just quit completely, it takes time and patience. At times you feel like doing it again, but i promise you if you stop you will be happy. It takes a lot of steps. First try to find something distracting like video games are movies to distract yo from smoking. Next try limiting yourself to only having it every other day. Then 3 times a week. Then once a week. Then twice a month. Then before you know it you'll get used to not doing it and you'll be happy. It takes a extreme time and patience. If you do feel like smoking remember those distracting ideas. This is coming from an 18 year old teenager, that has seen a lot of things in the world, i too had a problem with porn, but i did this process and now i'm clean and i'm so happy. You can do it, don't give up on yourself.

Start by only going out to places where smoking is not allowed, that'll lead to a change in habit. And find some distractions that will provide an alternative when you do go to the pub. One word of advice, it seems that alcohol and tobacco go together, so you need to be prepared for this.

You don't need to smoke when you're around friends. Most of my friends always smoke, it never tempts me to. If it does, distract yourself. Talk to them instead of staring at that cigarette lol. Or you can surf the internet/play games on your cellphone.

You just need commitment and a distraction. Good luck!

Try getting an E-cigarette, so when you grab it, its not really any nicotine (well you can get it with nicotine) but it wouldnt be as harmful as a normal cigarette.

You're better then me.I've been trying to quit for 55yrs.I've tried everything but no go.
