Question:
I think I may have Pneumonia, Can someone help me be clear of what I have? I need to know asap!?
I started to get sick about 2-3 weeks ago. I woke up and was suddenly sick out of no where, Like I got sick over night. It was pretty bad, but not as bad as it is now. I had a none stop cough, felt like I had mucus running down the back of my throat constantly, a stuff nose, I was spitting up yellow phlegm and I kept sneezing. It started to get worse everyday. I would actually take cold medication, and allergy meds, and it would still not go away. After a few days of being at my worse, It started to become more mild, with just coughing and sneezing. Well, After 2-3 weeks before today, I was still coughing and sneezing. I woke up this morning and I suddenly felt even worse than I did when I was sick before. I was extremely tired, even though I got a good nights sleep. My chest was burning, and I couldn't stop coughing so I went back to bed. Then I woke up a few hours later and I had a extremely bad headache or migraine and couldn't stand any sound, light, or even a tv/computer screen, was dizzy, had a stomach ache, coughing constantly, coughing and spitting up phlegm and my chest burning. I took aspirin and I ended up throwing up almost everything I ate today, just about an hour and a half ago. I can't hold anything down now, without feeling like I'm going to puke, I'm still coughing badly, I have a slight migraine still, and my chest is burning like hell. I thought I had a fever, but my mom told me that my head felt warm but not hot. Earlier I was sweating even though I was cold, Then I got really hot and was sweating so I opened my window. (there is snow on the ground) I cannot sleep due to how uncomfortable I am feeling. I smoke and that probably adds to what is making it worse, but I've only smoked twice today because I felt like I was going to puke and could not stop having hard coughs while I was. I also feel like most of my coughs are dry even though I cough up phlegm. PLEASE HELP ME!?!
ps: My mom got sick after I did, she went to the doctor and they told her it was a bacteria and virus, and put her on antibiotics. I never ended up going to the doctor. I'm 15 years old if that helps any.

This sounds more like influenza. However secondary pulmonary infections are common with the flu.
Get checked up at the Doctor ASAP. You need professional attendance. And cut out the smoking, at least til you're feeling better, your lungs are struggling with the infection!

Go to the E.R. ASAP or you can have sinus infection:/ my finace is a smoker also and he needs a inhaler when he has colds
Pneunomia can not be diagnosed by someones perception. It needs to be visualized through chest xrays and will typically show up as a darker due in the areas where the infection has built up at.
Your coughing and sneezing could be from the cause of anything such as:
- Influenza aka the common cold as stated above.
- Bronchitis
- Asthma
However, I would go see your doctor just to be safe because if it is any of the things listed above it could eventually turn into pneumonia if not medically treated. In the meantime be sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the next few days.
