is my physical therapist molesting me?!

Question: Is my physical therapist molesting me?
Im a chick and Ive had side and back problems for ahwile. I cant afford ensurance so my physical theropist who also has a degree in massage therapy treats me at his house. and he makes me get on the floor and do certain stretches and sometimes it feels like he's getting touchy feely. Then when im on the floor and put his bare hand down my pants and under my undewear and on my butt and makes me do this stretch while pressing on my butt/ tailbone. is he molesting/ taking advantage of me or is this normal for physical theropist/ massage therapist to to do

Answers:

It's common to tough the bare skin during certain manual therapy and massage procedures. There are some where it's not necessary however. Commonly, we place hands on the buttock during a stretch such as this: http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/vi… ... in cases like this, it's not really necessary to actually touch the BARE skin.

I can't really tell you if he's touching you inappropriately or not...all I can say is that touching the skin of the buttock is common in massage and manual therapy techniques. But the bottom line is that you are uncomfortable with that. You should speak to him about it, and if he's any professional, he will make accommodations.

I am a PT

He is treating you inappropriately, when I had Physical therapy about my back, my therapist told my to wear thin leggings with a long baggy top, so I would by comfortable and he could still feel stuff by not touching my bare butt (he only touched my bare skin a couple of times, to check the temperature as my back gets super hot, right before I have a bad spasm. Also he checked for swellings.) But apart from that, he saw it as unnecessary to touch me there.
Take your mum or dad, or any family member along and see if his methods change. If you are still uncomfortable then complain.

I cant answer that because im not a medial professional but you shouls check wirh rhe state medical licensing board. Or perhaps the board/authoriry where he got his certification from.
