Alcohol Before Going Under Anesthesia?!

Question: Alcohol Before Going Under Anesthesia?
I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled, the doctor said nothing(food or drink) after midnight the night before the surgery. I had three beers last night, but stopped drinking well before 10pm. My appointment this morning is 10am, so that's 12 hours since I had any of the alcohol. Should I have any worries about being put under? Or should I be fine?

You should be okay. Ideally you wouldn't have had alcohol to drink, but the main concern is that you don't have anything on your stomach that would come up - literally, during surgery. The alcohol is going to leave you a little more dehydrated than you would ordinarily be, so you'll want to compensate for that by drinking a little more water or other fluid post-op. The anesthesia they use for dental procedures is a bit different than what is used in regular surgery, so you'll be fine. In the coming days though, you will want to avoid alcoholic drinks. Aside from the burning of the mouth, it's kind of rough on the healing tissues and will interact with the pain medicines you get.

you,ll be fine. just don,t do it again. if the surgeon suspects, he may cancel your surgery.

You will probably be fine. But be sure to mention it to your oral surgeon, or the anesthetist.
