Question: Can an Optometrist see light damage on a baby's retina?
If a baby has damaged retina from staring at a bright light bulb, can an Optician or Optometrist see it?

I'm sure an optometrist or even your local clinical doctors have the correct tools to view damage to your childs retina. To view the retina all they really need is an ophthalmoscope, which most doctors carry now a days.

However, for a precise diagnose you should see someone who actually specializes in the field and get visual xrays such as MRI's or CT's to view it as well.



I think you'll need an opthomologist.
