Bad stomach aches? Mom says it's anxiety?!

Question: Bad stomach aches? Mom says it's anxiety?
I'm 15, have started my period. I don't start it until the end of the month. Ever since I woke up from an hour long nap yesterday, my stomach was stinging. It felt like severe period cramps (mine are always really harsh), but I'm not on my period! Also, it felt like I hadn't eaten in two days. When I did, I felt worse. The pain has been on and off (starts every hour or so). My mom says it's anxiety, because I've been putting a lot of pressure on myself to do well in school and stay up late to finish homework. Can you help me? I've only been eating crackers and sprite, but I only feel a bit better. I have been going to the bathroom regularly, too.

Answers:

Saltine crackers and bread are porous so they absorb more liquid like your stomach acid . Persons who use pain relievers like Aleve, Motrin, Advil fail to read the directions on the containers, and do not drink a full glass of liquid after ingesting the pills. The pain relievers can burn your stomach lining(Gastritis). When you eat, for a short time there is no pain, but when your stomach- acid pumps turn on, the acid affects your delicate stomach lining. Try a small experiment: New over-the-counter(OTC)medicine are available that can reduce or end the burning sensation. The medicine is used once every 24 hours. Here are brands of OTC medicines you can buy at any supermarket or pharmacy: Prilosec, Prevacid, Zantac, Pepcid. These medicines and more are available in generics, so search for the chemical name on the medicine and compare it with the generic. Anxiety can cause an upset stomach that may cause you to secreat stomach acid making your condition worst.

It's anxiety.... I get it too... (: Try and eat like mash potatoes and soup until you start feeling better
then move onto like crackers and stuff and if you feel nauseated drink ginger beer.
