What organs are in the lower back?!

Question: What organs are in the lower back?
I'm having a bad ache in my lower back. It feels like I've injured it, though I've done no such thing. It feels like a deep bruise that's got constant pressure on it, and it sends a horrible jolt of pain threw my back when it's touched. I even slightly feel it just sitting down.
Any idea what it could be? I doodled in MS Paint where on my back it hurts (it's the red circle). http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww115…
What's around there that could possibly be aching?

Well, there are no organs actually IN your lower back, but your kidneys are very near there, so, it could possibly be a kidney infection, but that's rather unlikely, it's probably just a pulled muscle, although a trip to the doctor's office to check it out would be a good idea, just in case.

Good luck!... :-D

In the back there is Kidney. Gallbladder is more on the side on the right but can be from the back as well. it could be arthritis in the lower lumbar regions as well. Like a bulging disk or something like that. But you should be going to your doctor so they can do an xray, mRI or ultrasound to check out the back. That can figure it out much better than anyone guessing. Also the doctor can pinpoint what is involved much more by pressing and finding out where the pain is. Be sure to check with your primary physician. Good luck.

I would say it is most likely your kidneys. And based on your description it could be kidney stones which are very painful. you many want to go get it checked out.
