Why do some people say that probiotics are a scam when they clearly helped me a !

Question: Why do some people say that probiotics are a scam when they clearly helped me a lot with IBS?
I buy the most expensive probiotic I can find on the store shelf. It is 45 dollars and has 80 billion count per pill in it and 14 different strains. It is enteric coated unlike others. Its name is "critical colon ultimate" I discovered it remarkably helped me with IBS. It almost cured me of IBS and significantly improved my intestinal health. However many people told me they are scam and that I am wasting my money unnecessarily. Others told me i can just eat activa yogurt. My gastro-eneterologist said probiotic is actually a placebo and high dose of anti-depressant along with bentyl will help. But instead of being placed on anti-depressants i gave ultimate critical colon a try, and it worked wonderfully. So I feel they are real and work, but many people disagree with me. Why?

They're right. You could get the same results by eating Activia Yogurt. Probiotics are considered a "scam" since unfortunately the results are overhyped and exagerated. The reason they work so well is due to the placebo effect, "I'm paying $45 a bottle so it has to work" syndrome. If you felt the same strength of conviction that yogurt would do the same thing, and really mean it not just say it to make yourself feel better, yogurt would work just as well and cost a lot less.
