Can you take benadryl after a mild night of drinking?!
Question: Can you take benadryl after a mild night of drinking?
Answers:
I never had a problem with it. I was a heavy drinker and took it when drunk sometimes, too. I never had ill effects from it.
Well, it's a little late to be asking now... I hope you only took the lower of the two doses (25 mg as opposed to 50 mg)... Alcoholic beverages intensify the sedation side-effect that comes with Benadryl and if you've never mixed the two, it can be dangerous.
Benadryl is what they call a CNS Depressant (Central Nervous System Depressant) and can make you dizzy, sleepy, less coordinated, shaky, irritable. It can also cause euphoria or vertigo.
Best thing to do right now is to go lay down, and sleep off the alcohol and Benadryl high.
I'm in a hospital right now using a medical product (not by choice) that makes me itchy so I take IV Benadryl. I experience a lot of the above symptoms, plus some recent nausea in the morning (yes, nausea can occur with frequent use, and possibly with infrequent use if alcohol is involved :P)

You should be okay as long as you only took one. Just read the box and keep in mind the warnings and side-effects. If anything serious starts to happen go to the ER or call 911.
