Teenage years are hard for a lot of people to handle. You're growing up in a world where you're trying hard to fit in among the other teens your age, trying to do well in school, having all sorts of different things happen inside your body and mind, starting to notice attractions to other people, and figure out love lives, etc. When you have all of that on your plate, it can become overwhelming and can cause anxiety. When things don't go well at home or school, or in your personal relationships - or if you're not understanding certain hormonal changes or certain feelings you're having it can be frustrating as hell and can lead to depression if you don't have an outlet to handle it... A trusted person to discuss this all with and someone who can help you learn about all of these things.

If life is getting too much and you're getting depressed and anxious, you need help. If your parents don't seem to give a damn (which is a total shame! Grrr!) then you need to go to your school counselor - they're not there to just help you with your course schedules and College or Career advice - tell him/her what you've told us and that you can't seem to get your parents involved in getting you the help you need and want. Your counselor can point you in the right direction for the help you need, or take action that would involve making your parents care enough to get you the help you need. Who cares if they get pissy about it - this is about you right now, you need to get the help you deserve before this goes too far and it's too late. I don't want to see a post from them later on asking why they didn't see the warning signs that their child was depressed BEFORE they had to go to the funeral.

I don't know that this would work, but you can try it: Before seeking help, you can try to cheer yourself up and become less anxious by trying to help others in need. Go out into your local community and do some volunteer work. See if doing something for someone else and making them happy will make you happy and out in the world meeting new people keeping you apart (every so often) from people and places that stress you out/depress you. Then if that doesn't work, do what I said above about going to the school counselor.

Good luck. :)

It is normal for teens to go through depression and anxiety. Normally teenage depression and anxiety is short lasting and tends to be only associated with the teens or early twenties. Your parents probably think that not talking about it will make it go away. Many think that way and avoid wanting to confront the issue, but its actually better to talk about it. I would see your doctor because there will be a medication out there which works for you and makes you feel better.

I'm sorry to hear about it though. Try going on nomorepanic.co.uk and you can get help from there and there is a chat room and you can get the psychological support to help you to cope with the depression and anxiety and this can reduce its severity to a degree that you feel you can cope better with your day to day activities. Sometimes its helpful to know you are not the only one so you can stop feeling so bad and gain some confidence and strength.

its actually pretty common for teens to go through depression. teenagers usually go through mood swings, one day youll feel on top off the world, the next your down in the dumps. first see whats causing you depression. some people however have nothing bad with their lives but still find themselves depressed. i went through a depression last summer, i hated the way i looked and i was always unhappy. luckily i got myself out of it and i realized that i had no real problems and should be grateful for what i had. im generally happy now, but sometimes for other people it might not be as easy. if your depressed the best i can advice i can give you is to find a hobby or something that will make you happy, add purpose to your life. as for the constant shaking, see a doctor. it may go away, but its better to be sure :)

can some people answer my questions please no one like answers mine its sad and i need answers thanks if you do!

I wouldn't say that it is normal, however, it is very common for teenagers to go through depression. Teenage years are the hardest and most trying years a person goes through in his/her life.
Please seek help if you feel that you are depressed. Talk to a friend that you trust, to a school counsellor. YMCA also have some programs and work shops for teens regarding depression.

You should also go and see a doctor right away if you are constantly shaking as it is not normal. It could be a symptom from something else. You can also have shakes if you are not sleeping and eating proper and healthy food.
