Does AD-HD get passed down generation to generation or can it just happen?!

Well, It depends. If people in your family have ADD or ADHD, you are more likely to get it.

My grandfather has ADD, my dad has ADHD, and I have ADHD.

ADHD is a mental issue, you can't just tell by looking at a person that they have it.

I have one child with ADD and the doctor asked if either myself or my husband show any signs. He gave us a checklist and as it turns out, my husband had almost all of the symptoms. The doctor said that a child with one ADD parent can have a 25% chance of showing the signs too. Just one doctors opinion, but it answers a few questions that I have had about hubby!
