staff infection in leg going way bad...stomach lining visable!?!
Question: Staff infection in leg going way bad...stomach lining visable!?
my grandma got a staff infection (the gangrene one) on her upper-inner thigh about 2 weeks ago. she has had over 6 surgeries to scrape off the infected and dieing tissue... during this mornings surgery, the Doctors said they reached her stomach lining!!! if that dies and the stomach acid gets out,...that's almost defiant death isn't it?
i have never been emotionally close to to her even though she is my grandma due to a very bad history towards my mom and her horrible decisions that have hurt my mom more.
basically i want the cold hard truth...don't sugar coat it or make it sound not so bad...i just want facts. so i know how to help my mom with out lieing to her. (btw, im 16, female and extremely close to my mom). thanks

Tell your mom that things look bad for your g-ma but while there's life there's hope.People have recovered from worse.
in some cases yes. If it has reached her stomach area. They can take out parts of the stomach and the patient can lead a normal life.
