when i get up to fast and black out a bit could it lead up to more?!

Question: When i get up to fast and black out a bit could it lead up to more?
i do it all the time getting up to fast and my vision goes fuzzy and black also i get light headed. i don't see a problem with it i just keep walking or i just squat for a second. i was telling my mom how much it happens and she told me just to sit on the edge of my bed for a bit before i get up. i don't have a problem with it and id rather not take the time to sit. my problem doesn't bother me much (even tough it happens very frequently) (not just when i get out of bed) i was curious to know if my little blackouts could lead to something else. the worst its gotten when i was at the beach i was learning to surf (practice jumping up on the sand first) my vision went black and i couldn't breath. (what was like 5 years ago though) im 14 and 5'3

From what I've researched about this it is completely normal, and it happens to a lot of people. This happens because when you lay down or sit down for some time, your blood settles in your body differently depending on how your body is positioned. I'll put it like this; When you sleep you're usually lying down either on your back, side, or stomach. After a while of lying there sleeping or just lying there, the blood in your body settles more horizontally and flows accordingly. As you awake and stand up suddenly or quickly, your blood will turn vertically and have to adjust its flow. The reason for the dizziness, temporary blindness and lack of breath is because your blood is settling vertically, and after having been horizontal for such a time, your body is affected by the sudden change in blood flow.
This isn't really anything to get worked up about. I have had this happen to me many times in my life, and I am still fine today. What your mom was saying about sitting up for a bit before you get up, really does help. It will allow your blood to settle in a much more reasonable time, and your body will adjust to the change in blood flow in a less extreme or violent way. You don't have to sit up or on the edge of your bed for 5 minutes, just fifteen to thirty seconds should help.
Hope this helped you!

My memories.

It's normal

Sometimes when that happens to me I fall down, be careful not to hit your head or something

idk

Been happening to me for decades...hasn't led to anything more, yet.

Here's what you do. ASK YOUR DOCTOR!!! you might need to be evaluated. He/she will ask you questions and help you decide if testing is needed for anything.

Keep in mind, it could be something as simple as not drinking enough water...and then causing the blood to rush from your head.

You know, about 200 years ago, that, combined with certain underwear, would have turned you into a fainting fool, like Aunt Pittypat. I'm sure all those smelling salts ultimately caused the early death of such women.
