It's hard to say. People respond differently to medications, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer.

Stimulants as a group (including Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine) are usually the first-choice drugs for severe ADHD.

However, stimulants can make anxiety worse for some people, unfortunately.

Some people with anxiety and ADHD do best on a non-stimulant medication, like Strattera or a tricyclic antidepressant. Others do best on a combination of a stimulant and a medication that treats anxiety, such as the SSRI antidepressants (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, etc.).

Still others find that when they treat the ADHD, the anxiety is less. Or vice-versa.

And don't discount non-medication approaches to treating both ADHD and anxiety. Some of them really do help, like exercise and cognitive-behavioral tricks for handling anxiety.

Good luck!

I am a scientist with an interest in ADHD. However, I am not a medical doctor and I suggest you seek advice on medication from someone who is qualified to provide medical advice.

Paxil, Wellbutrin, or Xanax. All have pros and cons, Xanax is EXTREMELY addictive. PAXIL makes you stupid, many people don't respond to Wellbutrin.

Talk to your Doctor, they have certain kinds of meds for ADHD but for anxiety I use Zanax, I'm not sure weather that would help your adhd or not but definitely helps the anxiety! Good Luck, consult your Doc!
