what foods do you eat and stay away from when you have diarrhea?!

Question: What foods do you eat and stay away from when you have diarrhea?
my boyfriend and i have our first apartment and we are trying to do things with out asking our parents for help. well late tonight my boyfriend woke up with diarrhea, and poor thing, the only thing i knew to do was take pepto. now i know the brat diet but we dont really have that stuff, barely having food to last week to week we mostly have junk food. so what foods should he stay away from today and what foods should he eat?

Answers:

black tea will help a bit. avoid coffee.

And learn to make good cheap food. Two packets of ramen with Veg-all and an egg: quick and cheap. Better yet, some brown rice and lentils and veggies. You don't need to be rich to eat something other than junk food.

diarrhea is ussually caused by mixed foods that dont go together or just a really really bad diet. EX. mixing milk with beans. something that just doesnt compliment the other meal well will usually give you diarrhea. So if you guys want to actually prevent something like this from happening again i would suggest making your own food and staying away from junk food. try eating a lot of fiber such as wheat bread. sandwiches are cheap and healthy. nothing with chips in a meal will be considered "healthy". so if you cook your own food with veggies it will make your day a lot easier. :) hope i helped.

college student living in apartment with $30.00 of food to last a week

Well, alcohol and anything especially spicy. Hmmm... bread and rice are QUITE a bit cheaper than 'junk food' (though of course one will have to - gasp - cook the rice and put the bread in the toaster), so tell him not to eat the Cheetos and potato crisps for the time being...
