am i still growing taller?!

Question: Am i still growing taller?
im 14 and 5' 5" - 5' 6". i got my first period february of 2008. my dad is really tall, about 6' something. my mom is 5' 5". my 16 year old brother is 6' 1" and still growing. i've been having extremely bad pains in my knees. my dad says its because im growing faster than i should be, which i think i am because i recently got stretch marks. im really curious to if im still growing or not

Answers:

Yes your still growing, my daughter when she was 14 she had growing pains so bad she couldn't walk up the steps at times, now she is 37 and 5'9, and I am only 5'5 1/2 cause my Mom is only 5'1'' But my daughters father is 6'2'' its Genetic one way or the other. Your not growing faster your just growing normal and those pains come and go every year. I can suggest you exercise, stretching and walking helps big time cause it helps your body adapt to your muscles getting bigger and stronger also Vitamins and you being a girl take vitamin D and Calcium like CALTRATE chewables, that's really good stuff, but you need to take it together with vitamin D, That helps make your bones nice and strong as you grow, Very important for active girls!! Good Luck! and GROW baby GROW!!

i'm sorta feeling the same way... im 14 but i'm 5'9. i have HEARD if you average your parent's heights and then give or take 4 inches, that's how tall you should be. i also hear your doctor can tell your height when you grow up. i ALSO heard that you can tell based on how fast you grew when you were younger.... i'm no doctor (again, im 14), so i can't just say "alright. you're gonna be 5'10. here, have a sucker." but i think you're still growing.

It may help those pains if you take a calcium tablet, but ask your parents first.

You should be growing, just in a slow pace.

Yes you are. Some people keep growing well into their 20's, actually.

Know one thing that human body stops growing at age 21....end of the story

ya
