What helps to get over a sore throat?!

Question: What helps to get over a sore throat?
I started with a sore throat Saturday night when I went to bed. When I woke up Sunday morning, I also lost my voice-which does happen with me when I get a sore throat. Later on in the day, not only my voice started to come back, but my sore throat started going away. However, it came back a little bit later.

I've been drinking hot tea and that usually helps, but it doesn't seem to do much of anything. It calms it a bit, but not much. My throat still burns. I've tried something cold-like milk or ice cream-and that only increased the pain. I've tried cough drops or throat drops and not really helping. I'm not coughing either. Just a sore throat.

Does anyone know anything that could help calm my sore throat? Please?

Answers:

Make honey lemon tea!
All you do is get a tablespoon of honey (it can be any kind, doesn't matter if its raw or not) and mix it in hot water until it dissolves.
Next cut a wedge of lemon, not too much or it will be very sour, and squeeze the lemon juice into the honey water.
Stir and you can add more honey or lemon according to your taste.

Drink up!
Drink a lot because the more you drink the better your throat will be. It always works for me!

The honey and lemon are both used to soothe your throat that's why they have lemon and honey cough drops but I find that drinking it helps since you are getting more fluids which also helps the throat.

I hope you get better.

im sick with this too right now. what i do is normally take some dayquil or nyquil depending on the time of day. make sure to blow your nose because multiple reasons for sore throats is mucus running down your throat which causes it to ache. eat chicken noodle soup and drink the broth also when youre drinking tea make sure to add a good teaspoon full of honey which helps sooth and heal the throat. make sure you are drinking water and juice to keep hydrated. hoope you get better soon!

yeah there are medicines but i gargle warm salt water.

a full cup, gargle spit repeat.

Try putting Vicks Vaporub on it and wrapping a towel around it to keep it extra warm (Use a safety pin on the towel). This helps my sore throats go away faster.

You can also try gargling with salt water, and letting the salt sit on your throat for as long as possible before eating or drinking.

I noticed that when I first start to get a sore throat, if I squirt a tincture in the back of my mouth and swallow and leave it there overnight- full strength- it will stop the sore throat. For the tincture or extract, don't use anything that has a lot of honey or glycerin, and get something that has garlic and possibly goldenseal in it. Try it out during the day first, so you know if you have a sensitivity.

I had a sore throat yesterday, and now its pretty much gone because I drunk alot of water, and I also did this, (It really works)

1. get some really hot water in a mug (I boiled mine but then cooled it down a little)
2. put about 1 teaspoon on salt and mix it into the mug with the water.
3. then go to the bathroom and causiously sip the water then gargle in back into your throat, (I let a few drops slide down my throat just to get to the back.)
4. repeat until all water is gone.

do that every 3 hours or so, I only did it once, but your sore throat is probably worse so do it for the rest of the day every three hours, it helped Altolot. :)
