Why does my *** smell in America?!

I emigrated from the UK to the US (Los Angeles) last October, and for some reason my *** smells now. Like when I lived in the UK, I would scratch my *** sometimes through my underwear, and it wouldn't smell. But now I'm in America, every time i scratch my *** my fingers stink. Why is this?

.... and, YES, before anyone asks I shower regularly. The same as I did in the UK.
