No, the surgery hurts. The anesthesia lessens the pain that the surgery causes.

If you go to sleep with an IV medication, it may burn as it goes in. We don't usually put kids older than about age 8 to sleep with gas. You will be kept asleep with gas through a breathing tube, but the getting knocked out part happens through the IV.

I'm an anesthesiologist.

you mean general anesthesia. (you are put to sleep).
well it will hurt a little bit when they put the IV in your arm or hand. basically like having a blood test or getting a shot type of pain. it goes away quickly though.
and then when they administer the anesthesia you may feel a weird burining/stinging sensation throughout your body as it circulates around your body. you are out like a light in about 30 seconds though so the pain doesn't last long.

i'm 24 and i've had 9 surgeries including a tonsillectomy in 2009.

No it shouldn't they just put a little mask type thing over you're mouth and nose and tell you to breath in and before you know it you're awake wondering if it even happened, no pain no problem :]

I had Anesthesia when i broke my arm

Depends. If its the dentist one then yes, it does hurt. Others, I don't know.

Depends which kind you get.
