Question:
Lyme Disease? Meningitis? Please help me.?
4 days ago I started my day with a horrible horrible headache, by the by I got home I had a fever and a very very sore neck, I took a tylenol and went to bed. Next morning I woke up still had a headache but had sore joints [fingers, knees, wrists, ankles] still had fever, still had neck pain. I tried to rest all day until my fever hit 102.7 so I went to the ER, they tested me for strep and flu and both came back negative, they told me I had some sort of virus and go home to drink lots of fluids and rest. Well I developed a really random rash on my legs and arms that is working its way up my feet... I went to my primary care today and he hardly looked at me and told me he thinks I need to be checked for Lyme Disease even though I don't have the bulls eye rash.. Has anyone had anything like this before and it was nothing serious?? Please tell me anything you can, I am so so scared.

There are so many different causes of rashes that it is very difficult to narrow down any specific cause of one. Common categories of rash are:
scaly patches of skin not caused by infection,
scaly patches of skin produced by fungal or bacterial infection,
red, itchy bumps or patches over the body, such as on the chest and back.
Although rashes are seldom dangerous, self-diagnosis is not usually a good idea. Proper evaluation of a skin rash requires a visit to a doctor or other health-care professional. Check this site for good information and you may be able to figure out what is going on.
