Can a Adult donate heart to 7 year old?!

Question: Can a Adult donate heart to 7 year old?
If your an organ doner and you die can an adult "donate" his heart to a 7 year old or does it stay within an age range

Answers:

From what I understand 7 year olds have smaller hearts than adults, so an adult donor can't work. There's also no garauntee that the heart wouldn't go to another person higher on the priorty list, and your heart may not be a match.

Depends on a lot of factors. If the blood matches, if the heart will fit, if the child getting a heart only has a medical problem that a heart will cure. Most donors don't know who gets their organs, everyone needing organs go on a list and they usually follow the list. Depends on the reason the child needs a heart and if it will work or not. There are so many factors involved you should talk to a Dr about it but they will not take the heart from a live person or a person who overdosed to donate a heart. The size of the heart is very important and the blood type of both persons.

When an organ becomes available for transplant they first look to see if it is as complete a match as possible. Same blood type and RH Factor, any atypical antibodies, and it has to be the same size. They don't leave your heart out until you grow into it. Also, the organ that is being donated must be healthy.

it's possible though it may be too big and would have to stay "out" for a while if they cant get enough skin graft
