are physical exams necessary?!

Question: Are physical exams necessary?
could a person refuse to get them or at least refuse to get parts of them done?
say, this person(female) as a really deep fear of people touching them, and anything too intimate might make them have a break down.

Answers:

If by necessary you mean mandatory, there are certain situations where a physical is required. Military service of course, some jobs that are physically demanding, applying for health insurance, playing for sports teams, obtaining commercial driving licenses or a pilots license, things like that require a physical exam.

Bear in mind though, that avoiding physicals is also avoiding the opportunity to detect a multitude of problems that, by the time they are noticed by you, may be much further along and difficult or impossible to treat by that time. It's a huge risk (depending on medical history, age, fitness level, etc.) that at times might be worth a breakdown, just something to think about.

Perhaps a realistic solution may be to find a doctor that has experience with people who share your fears? It may be worth a visit to a psychiatrist that deals with this specifically in order to get referrals to medical doctors that can work with you.
