Protein in my urine AGAIN! Please help!?!
Question: Protein in my urine AGAIN! Please help!?
I am a 26 year old, otherwise healthy female. Not at all overweight, non smoker. I don't have diabetes, neveer had sugar in my blood or urine.
During a routine health check last December it showed I had +1 protein in my urine. So I rechecked it a couple weeks later and it was gone. Now we did a third check about 2 months after and it is there again. My doc said the albumin to creatinine ratio was high. She wants to recheck the urine in a month. (She wasn't the one that did the first two checks.)
What could be causing this? I am so scared I have kidney disease?!

A great answer from someone named Corky here three years ago and still true: There are a ton of causes for proteinuria, some benign and some requiring attention. If there's a reason you're spilling protein in your urine it should be found and treated, but this likely will not involve transplant or dialysis. If you're having other problems you should consult a nephrologist or urologist for advice.
