I am very sick and I need to be able to eat and drink?!

Question: I am very sick and I need to be able to eat and drink?
I have strep throat but it's not normal strep throat because I haven't been able to eat or drink the past 3 days. It hurts so bad to swallow I can't even describe the pain & I have to spit out my saliva because I cannot swallow that either. Is there any way I can remove the coats of mucus in my throat and the back of my mouth? Just spitting I get out something that looks like snot. Please help me, I've tried almost everything AND PLEASE DON'T RECCOMEND ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES SWALLOWING.

The only way to determine if you truly have strep throat is to have a swab taken and analyzed to make sure. If it is strep throat, that is a bacteria. 90% of all sore throats are VIRAL, not bacterial, so you need to know for sure.

The fact that you have a lot of mucus sounds more like a viral infection starting in your sinus area. Get some castor oil and put it all over your throat and then get a wash cloth hot from hot water and place that over the area for about 5 minutes. Re-heat the wash cloth and repeat for about 30 minutes. That will help draw the toxins out. You can put this on your sinus area as well. Then get some coconut oil and put it in your mouth and swish it around for about 2 minutes. Then spit it out, do NOT swallow it. That will cleanse the mouth of the bacteria, virus, and fungus. Then after all that, gargle with water mixed with coconut oil. The coconut oil contains caprylic acid and capric acid that kills virus, bacteria, and fungus.

If the infection is viral, do NOT use an antibiotic because that turns off the "T" cells in the immune system and the "T" cells are what fight viruses and cancer.

You can also gargle with salt water and the salt binds to the germs and toxins and carries them away. The problem it sounds like you have is that the mucus is what contains the germs and is continually infecting the throat. You need to address the "Root cause" to truly get well.

good luck to you

If this is real bacterial infection you need to get to a doc sooner than later. The only way this will clear is with medication and the good news is it usually starts to clear very quickly with such meds. Forget eating and in the meantime just try sips of warm water until you can get help.

A strep throat requires antibiotics so see a doctor.

Strep is horrible! Have you been to the doctor and on an antibiotic to kill the infection? I think they can give you an antibiotic SHOT to jump-start combating the infection faster in your body, and then a prescription of antibiotic in pill-form.

NUMBING GEL -
My daughter had a terrible case of strep - could hardly swallow her medication at all!!
Our doctor prescribed LIDOCAINE in a GEL-type form in a bottle (2%). You DO have to swallow it, but just 2 Tablespoons a dose, it's not bad. After holding it in the back of your throat...as you would right before you're going to swallow, then swallow it... it NUMBS your throat and you can swallow without all of that pain, AND are better able to swallow your medication that will kill the strep. When it's time to take your meds., use the Lidocaine, let it numb, then take your antibiotic. Be sure to finish all of your antibiotic even if you're feeling better or well. The strep needs to be 'killed' and it takes the length of time that your medication is prescribed. :)

You can also try rinsing and holding warm salty water in your mouth a couple of times a day to help speed the healing after you're not SO SO sore and any blisters are healed better.

Once you start on an antibiotic and take it regularly, the strep should start to get much better pretty quickly. Although, it sure doesn't feel like it at first. :) The Lidocaine really did the trick for my daughter so that she could take her meds and start to recover quickly.

Hope this was helpful and that you're feeling better very soon!
