I am having trouble sleeping, any tips I can do that will help me as I can'!

Question: I am having trouble sleeping, any tips I can do that will help me as I can't take sleepong tablets.?
I am having trouble sleeping and its driving me up the wall now. When I go to bed I can get to sleep no problem at all, but then I keep waking up all the time, so I am having about 5 hours or less sleep at night, this has been going on for weeks now. I am currently on Proprananlol tablet to control anxiety that I suffer from. So when I spoke to a pharmacist about sleeping tablets she said I couldn;t really take them with those because they are a relaxant anyway.

I do have stuff on my mind at the moment which I guess I am thinking about constantly, I really try and switch off but its very difficult. Any ideas? My eyes are starting to look awful through lack of sleep which is making me paranoid, lol

This is a very common problem in America today. What is happening is that your blood sugar is dropping as you sleep and waking you up. This happens because you are eating too many carbs and sugar and not enough fat. FATS give you sustained energy and keep your blood sugar levels up during the night. Carbs are like the kindling on a fire and give you quick, fleeting energy. This is why the lunatics that are promoting higher carb diets are promoting that you should eat 5 or 6 meals a day. That is just stupid advice on many levels. We are designed to eat lots of fat. It is completely wrong that eating lots of GOOD fats will make you fat. Avoid bad fats like anything made with soybeans, canola, cottonseed, or corn oils. Eat lots of coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, hemp oil, avocados, flax seed, real butter, etc. RAW milk is very good for you if it comes from grass fed cows. Avoid all milk that is pasteurized from GRAIN fed cows. That garbage is loaded with lots of toxic things for the body. If you were to drink a glass of whole RAW milk before bed, you will be amazed at how well you sleep. Here's a web site of a great dairy that has NEVER had a human pathogen in their grass fed cow milk: www.organicpastures.com

It's important to get at least 5 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night to recharge your adrenal glands. If you don't get the 5 hours, you will not go into a good REM sleep mode and you will be tired the next day.

good luck to you

I too had great problems sleeping thought it was a medical condition was advised by my GP to lay on my right side and did,now no more unbroken sleep and very refreshed the next day.

Never had to take sleeping tablets either.

You need to relax before you sleep and try and clear away whatever is on your mind,
reading/calm relaxation music help:)

Try eating a banana and drink 1 glas of milk before you go to sleep :) it helped me!
