How old do you have to be, to experience joint pains?!

Question: How old do you have to be, to experience joint pains?
I am in my early thirties and my knees are buckling under pressure. I think this is mostly due to excessive barefoot hiking carried out in my pre-teens, or trail running. Both my knees seem to be suffering from joint pain. This has started this week.

Answers:

Even kids can have arthritis, and injury can leave you prone to weakenss.

Weather changes can give this result, or level of activity. Try gentle yoga like standing on one foot, alternating feet, to help building up the muscles around the knees to keep the joint more stable, and indeed, the whole leg, ankle and hip, which can be affected by the instability of one or more of the other joints.

You might want to see your doctor if the pain persists, and if you are carrying any extra weight, even a loss of 10 pounds can make a huge difference in the amount of impact you are putting on the joint when you step down. Physiotherapy with special exercises to keep the knees strong without too much wear and tear ccan also help.

best of luck!

It has nothing at all to do with going barefoot: When barefoot, the foot rolls into impact and the joints experience very little harm. Shoes on the other hand widely change our gait and end up severely damaging joins from the ankles to the neck. This is not just me saying it, there is a substantial and growing body of research verifying these facts, a good deal of it even being carried out by shoe companies.

To be honest, it is probably due to excessive shoe wearing since you first decided to stop going barefoot.

i don't believe that your joint pains has anything to do with your age. i know a few people who are younger than you that has joint pains. do what they did, see a doctor. good luck.
