Sounds like you could have a sinus infection. Does your head feel as if it is blown up and disconnected from the rest of you? The greenish yellow that you are coughing up is infection, and usually with a sinus infection you do cough that nasty stuff up, and have persistant headahces, with earaches the dr will be able to tell with an xray of the sinus' then if proven to be true will start you on an antobiotic. Sounds like you got an infection, because you said your mucus is greenish, it may be chest congestion or nose congestion and the mucus running down your throat is irritating your throat. They probably give you a decongestion, expectorate, and maybe an antibiotic if he thinks it a strong infection already.

only drink warm water,your throat could get worse!
