Question: If you shoot someone in the head do they die instantly?
Like for instance in a hostage situation lets say they have a bomb. IF you were to shoot them within 15 yards 2 times to the middle of the forehead would it be an instant kill without triggering a body reaction that would set off the bomb? (making the assumption they have the detonator in their hands)

No, it's not necessarily an instant kill. It's even possible that they won't die at all. There are cases of attempted suicide where a person shoots himself in the head and survives. It's too big a risk.
