Sick after accidentally eating meat!? Help!!?!
Question: Sick after accidentally eating meat!? Help!!?
I have been a STRICT vegetarian for three and a half years, any then I stopped drinking milk and then became basically vegan except for I eat cheese still. I feel so guilty and if I didn't have the worst case of emetaphobia (can't spell, but it means I'd rather die than throw up) ever, I would have made myself throw up. I STILL almost did, even with all the fear kind of trying to stop me. I didn't though, but now I feel like it really bad, and I can't eat, and I'm shaking, and it feels like stuff is coming up my throat (tmi? sorry!!!!!)
Just what can I do to feel better? I'm scared to death to throw up and I REALLY DON'T WANT TO !!!! I already took a pepto bismol and it didn't help ):

It will be alright! It's possible that the meat might have been bad and you have food poisoning, but this usually just runs its course. If you start to feel worse, go to the doctor. It's also possible that since you are a vegan you have lost some of the digestive enzymes necessary to digest meat. This might cause some discomfort, but it too will pass within 24 hours. I think, more likely than not, the symptoms you are experiencing are the result of guilt more than anything. And you shouldn't feel guilty. Believe me. It's the lunch lady's fault for not telling you what the ingredients in the food were, you should not feel guilty. Plus, you are helping animals so much by choosing to be a vegetarian. Eating a tiny bit of meat will not cancel out all the great work you've done. Know you're doing the right thing. Know you have nothing to feel guilty about. Just try to stay calm!
Lifelong vegetarian.

it's probably just a placebo effect, from guilt. Try to calm down, eating meat won't kill you and it was an accident. It's not like you did it on purpose
It's going to be okay, it was an accident. Maybe you should bring your own lunch for now on, so that won't happen again.
Quit being such a drama queen. Such a little bit of meat won't hurt you.
